Makes 24 cookies
These sweet, decadent, salty, chewy bites will be your new holiday go to cookie!
2-1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup (2 sticks) room temperature butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon almond extract
2 each large eggs
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup sugar
16 oz (1 bag) chocolate chunks
1 cup Luxardo Cherries, drained
1 cup walnuts, roasted and salted
2 Tablespoons Fleur de sel (optional)
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a medium bowl, gently mix all-purpose flour, baking soda and salt. Set aside. In a large mixing bowl, mix butter, vanilla and almond extract, eggs and sugar. Gently stir int the dry ingredients in two increments. Add cherries, walnuts and chocolate chunks and incorporate through the dough.
Scoop a golf ball sized scoop onto a greased sheet tray leaving 2 inches apart. Sprinkle salt on each cookie ball. Bake for 9-11 minutes (depending on oven). Remove and let set before moving to a cooling rack.
